What is a CLU?
A Certified Life Underwriter or CLU® is a financial professional who meets the requirements established by The American College. These include completing a specified program of study, and meeting minimum experience requirements and specific ethical standards. The CLU is the premier credential in the insurance profession, representing five comprehensive college level courses, covering all aspects of insurance planning, estate and retirement issues, taxation, business insurance, and risk management.
What is a RIA?
A registered investment advisor (RIA) is a financial professional firm that advises clients on securities investments and may manage their financial portfolios. RIAs are registered with either the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) or state securities administrators. RIAs have fiduciary obligations to their clients, which means they have a fundamental duty to always and only provide investment advice that is in the best interests of their clients. A Fidicuciary standard is the highest level of Accountability for any financial Professional.
What is a ChFC?
A Chartered Financial Consultant or ChFC ® is a financial professional who meets the requirements established by The American College. These include completing a specified program of study, and meeting minimum experience requirements and specific ethical standards. The ChFC designation has completed the most extensive educational program required for any financial services credential. Each ChFC has taken at least eight college-level courses on all aspects of financial planning from The American College. This curriculum includes 7 core courses-identical to those in the college's CFP certifiction program.
What is an EA?
An enrolled agent is a person who has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service. Enrolled agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards. Individuals who obtain this elite status must adhere to ethical standards and complete ongoing continuing education.
Enrolled agents, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), have unlimited practice rights. This means they are unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and which IRS offices they can represent clients before.
What is a CASL?
The CASL® professional is a financial services expert educated to lead clients from middle age through retirement and assist them with the management, preservation and transfer of wealth. Having completed an advanced five-college-level course academic curriculum and met the experience and ethics requirements as set forth by The American College of Financial Services.
What is a RICP?
A Retirement Income Certified Professional is a financial advisor with specialized training from The American College of Financial Services, focused on helping people near or in retirement create sustainable income plans, optimize Social Security, manage risks (like inflation, healthcare, outliving assets), and plan for taxes and estate needs, ensuring their savings last and maintain their lifestyle.
